Shabani, Anna
Anna Shabani, 85, a resident of Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids, died there Friday, Dec. 31, 2010. Funeral services: 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 3, at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, by the Rev. Dr. Ciprian Sas. Friends may call from 5 to 7 tonight at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, where a Trisagion service will be held at 6 p.m. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Born June 30, 1925, in Castonia, Samos Greece, Anna was the daughter of Fotios and Catherine (Papas) Karagiannis. On Feb. 10, 1968, she was united in marriage to Uka Shabani. He died April 20, 1996.
