Secor, Kathleen A.
Kathleen A. Secor passed away April 10, 2012, at the age of 88 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, with burial to follow. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Kathleen was born Feb. 11, 1924, in Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Griffith, who died in 1980; her mother, Geraldine James; her father, Orlen James; her sister, Janet Jacobs; and her grandparents, John and Jennie O'Donnell and Alfred and Alice James.
Kathleen grew up in Cedar Rapids, graduating from Franklin High School and Cedar Rapids Business College. After their marriage, Kay and her husband Chuck moved to Omaha, where Kathleen enjoyed working at the Chamber of Commerce and helping her husband run the District IDS Office. Later, Kathleen and her husband moved to Edina, Minn., and lived for a brief time in Paris, France. Kay enjoyed working with her husband, children, playing bridge and golf. In 1993, Kathleen married Howard Secor, who died in 1998.
She will be missed by her stepchildren, Janet Secor Kvach and John Secor (Dell); her stepgrandson, Ryan Kvach (Jessica); great-stepgranddaughter, Kiersten Kvach; sister-in-law, Bonnie Griffith; as well as nieces and nephews.
Her family and friends will remember her with love and miss her.
