Sears, Anna 'Ann' C.
Anna “Ann” C. Sears, 97, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at Keystone Cedars, Cedar Rapids. Graveside Services: 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Christopher Podhajsky. Arrangements are by Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Rita Sears; good friend, Elaine Young; niece, Carol Sears; and nephew, Craig (Margaret) Sears, all of Cedar Rapids; great-nephews, Sean and Eric; and great-niece, Bailey.
Ann was born Feb. 16, 1915, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Alexander and Laura (Nowadsky) Nichols. She graduated from Grant High School in 1934. On July 31, 1937, she married Leo Sears in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1989.
Ann was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, and bicycling.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
