Scott, Thomas George
Thomas George Scott, 64, of Center Point, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, after a courageous year and a half battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at the Toddville Free Methodist Church, Toddville, with Pastors Mark Loftquist and Garth Betry officiating. The family will greet friends one hour before the service at the church. Military honors by Quasqueton American Legion Post 434.
Tom is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cheryl; four sons, Jason (Chrissy) of Jacksonville, N.C., Joshua (fiancee, Mary Jo) of Center Point, Justin (fiancee, Danielle) of Cedar Rapids, and Jesse (Kaitlin) of Center Point; grandchildren, Emiley, Brandon, Brycen, Hailey, Cameron and baby Tristen is on the way; brother, Eldon (Evelyn) of Anamosa; sister, Zelda (Harold) Powers of Quasqueton; special mother-in-law, Betty Ann Jordan of Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews.
Tom was born March 2, 1948, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of George and Iris (Kress) Scott. He married Cheryl Jordan on Jan. 24, 1970, in Cedar Rapids. Tom had a wonderful sense of humor and especially enjoyed the time spent with his family and many friends on his life's journey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Inez Rinard.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
