Marion
Scott (Scotty) Ben Bowers, 37, of Marion, and formerly of Reinbeck and Center Point, died at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City on Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2018.
A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Sanctuary Church in Cedar Rapids.
Scotty is survived by his mother and stepfather, Karen and Ken Casey; his father and stepmother, Ben and Deb Bowers; children, Brayden Bowers (17), Casey Bowers (15), Ryleigh Bowers (4), Piper Marsh-Johnson (6) and Baby Bowers due Aug. 20, 2018; sisters, Michelle (Jeremy) Vaverka and Mindy (William "Seige") Amey; girlfriend, Dakota Marsh; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Scott was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and grew up in Center Point, Iowa, until the age of 12, when he relocated to Reinbeck, Iowa. In January 2001, he became a father for the first time, giving his life to God shortly after. He was the co-owner of ResComm Flooring, LLC, installing carpet and other types of flooring. He had a passion for traveling, going to Costa Rica to help build a school and Tennessee to begin a church. He was always on the go exploring from one place to the next. Being a father meant the world to him, and he shared his love for his children with all who knew him. He was playing with them even up to the very last moments before his tragic fall.
Thank you for all of your support. If you were unable to attend the Celebration of Life, but would like to send your condolences, please send to Ben Bowers, 144 Green St., Center Point, IA 52213.
