Scott, Marie B.
Marie B. Scott, 95, of Cedar Rapids, died peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at her home. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ Church Presbyterian. The Rev. Tim Dyck and the Rev. Lucille King will officiate. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday.
Survivors include a son, Bruce (Goldie) of Ava, Mo.; three daughters, Judy Ernst and Sherri (Tim) Dohrmann of Cedar Rapids and Linda Long of Cresco; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers; and two sons-in-law, Martin Long and Dean Ernst.
Marie was born Dec. 24, 1916, in Vinton, the daughter of Porter and Blanche Usher Erland. She married Glenn H. Scott on June 28, 1938, in Cedar Rapids. Glenn died in 2004. Marie worked in the jewelry department at Armstrong's Department Store, retiring from there in 1980.
Marie was a faithful member of Christ Church Presbyterian, volunteered at St. Luke's Hospital for many years and was a member of Eastern Star.
She was an avid reader, enjoyed nature, feeding the birds and especially enjoyed the time spent with her beloved family.
Marie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother whose memory will be cherished by all.
A memorial fund has been established.
