Scott was born Oct. 28, 1962, in Iowa City, the son of Ronald and Barbara (Griffith) Jones. He grew up in Coralville and was a 1981 graduate of West High School.
Scott considered himself blessed to have fulfilled three wishes in his life. The first was working with his father for 32 years in the family business, Ron Jones Masonry. Scott's second lifelong dream was to be employed in construction material delivery, otherwise known as a dump-truck driver. That dream was fulfilled by being employed with Rittenmeyer Trucking. His third dream was fulfilled by marrying Jane, the love of his life. Jane Kasper and Scott met at Johnson Auto Service. Scott gave Jane a ride back to work and the rest is history. They married Oct. 16, 1999.
Scott loved the NFL, golf and being outside.
Survivors include his wife, Jane; his stepdaughter, Kristin Lewis of Chicago; his stepson, Nick Lewis (Leena Im) of Washington, D.C.; grandson, Oliver; his parents, Ronald and Barbara of Iowa City; his brother, Todd of Iowa City; his aunt, Sheila Payton, and uncle, Michael Griffith; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Dennis) Jacobsen, John DiViggiano and Carolyn (Bjorn) Hansson; nieces and nephews, Rebecca, Robbie and Christopher Jones, John (Justine) Jacobsen, Anne (Justin) Watson and Daniel Jacobsen; and great-niece Rosemary Watson.
