Scott, Evelyn S.
Evelyn S. Scott, 83, of 1108 Staub Ct. NE, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center after a brief illness. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Charles; three daughters, Mary (Darold) Groat of Littleton, Colo., Margaret (Torsten) Wegler of London, England and Allison (Greg) Nims of Des Moines; two sons, Jeffrey (Shannon) of Overland Park, Kan., and Paul of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Edward Packingham.
Evelyn was born May 26, 1927, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Charles and Shirley (Boyd) Packingham. She married Charles L. Scott on Aug. 25, 1948, in Cedar Rapids. Evelyn was a homemaker. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, where she was active in Church Women United, the Golden Links Class as well as several other women's groups at the church.
Evelyn enjoyed crafts, collecting dolls, sewing and time spent with her beloved family.
Memorial donations may be given to Salem United Methodist Church in Evelyn's name.
