Scott Carl Smith, 64, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023, at UnityPoint-St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa, where a funeral service will begin at 2 p.m.
Scott was born on April 17, 1959, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Darold A. and Joanne (Kintzle) Smith. He was a graduate of LaSalle High School in Cedar Rapids and went on to earn his associate degree from Kirkwood Community College. Scott worked in construction as a millwright in Cedar Rapids. He was interested in motorbikes and motorcycles. Scott will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Scott is survived and lovingly remembered by his mother, Joanne of Cedar Rapids; brother, Randy (Leora) Smith of Anamosa, Iowa; niece, Mandy (Brock) Bieber of Anamosa; nephew, Landon Smith of Cedar Rapids; and three great-nieces, Hannah, Makenna, and Malcolm.
He was preceded in death by his father, Darold; brother, Greg Smith; maternal grandparents, Carl and Coletta Kintzle; and paternal grandparents, Albert and Anne Smith.
