Scott A. Schuch, age 56, of Nashville, TN, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2024, following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born Aug. 29, 1968, in Cedar Rapids, IA to Jan and Gary Schuch of Central City, IA. Scott attended and graduated from Central City Community School in 1986. In 1990, he graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a BA in Psychology. Continuing his education at the University of Tennessee, he received his Masters of Science in social work. While working for the Tennessee Valley Healthcare systems at the VA Medical Center, Scott continued his educational journey receiving his Masters of Science in Nursing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Vanderbilt University. Upon receiving board certification, Scott became a devoted employee for the TN Dept. of Corrections.
Scott was a passionate advocate for his patients needs by providing care with empathy and humor that allowed them to maintain their dignity.
Scott was united in marriage to Nancy Robison on Nov. 8, 2004, in Caherconlish, Ireland. Together, they enjoyed traveling, gardening, live music and spending time at the pool. Scott enjoyed entertaining family and friends and cooking big meals for them. He and his brother Shawn shared a special bond over Hawkeye Football and music festivals. With his vibrant and friendly personality, Scott never met a stranger and because of that he leaves behind his family and a large close net of friends with broken hearts.
Scott is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Nancy of Nashville, TN; Father Gary Schuch of Central City, IA, brother Shawn (Kelli) Schuch of Cedar Rapids, IA, mother-in-law Judith of Nashville, TN, brother-in-law Steve (Diane) Robison, sister-in-law Hailey (Devin) Jacobsen, niece Anna Robison.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Jan Schuch, father-in-law Al Robison and his beloved bulldog Agnus.
Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2nd in Central City, IA at Pinicon Ridge Park in the Horeshoe Falls Lodge from 3pm-7pm.
