Scina Habhab Deaver, 93, a resident of Bickford Cottage in Marion, passed away Friday, June 26, 2015. Services: 2 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 28.
Survivors include her children, Hamode (Judy) Hasson, Karma Hamood Ginalski, David (Judy) Deaver, Dianne (Layne) McDowell and Doug (Jackie) Deaver; and a half brother, Sam Habhab. She also is survived by 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David; two sons, Kenneth Hasson and Dean Deaver; four brothers and four sisters.
Scina was born April 26, 1922, in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Abbas and Mesada Harp Habhab. She married David A. Deaver Sr. on May 25, 1948, in Cedar Rapids. David passed away in 2013.
Scina was in jewelry sales for many years. She was a member of the Mother Mosque of America and volunteered at St. Luke's Gift Shop for over 23 years.
Scina was very devoted to her family, taking care of her brothers and sisters, and later took great pleasure spending time with her beloved grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Memorial donations may be given to the Mother Mosque of America.
