Schwartz, Leana (Gilleland)
Leana (Gilleland) Schwartz, 67, of Cedar Rapids, died Dec. 6, 2011, following a brief illness. Her family and friends would like you to join them for a Celebration of Life service on Friday, Dec. 9, at First Congregational Church, 361 17th St. SE, Cedar Rapids, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Leana was born June 27, 1944, to Clifford and Zila Gilleland in Cedar Rapids.
Leana was a loving mother, grandmother and friend who embraced many with open arms. This included the many young lives she cared for during her years spent at Mary Moppets and Kirkwood Kids Day Care Centers.
Survivors include her children, Laurey (Donnie Collins) Schwartz of Cedar Rapids, Heather Schwartz of Marshalltown and Nicholas Schwartz of Cedar Rapids; and six grandchildren, Markus, Trey, AJ, Jaden, Colin and Aliyah.
Leana was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Shirley Baker; and a brother-in-law, Ray Baker.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
