Schwarting, Henrietta L.
Henrietta L. Schwarting, 95, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at Colonial Manor of Amana following an extended illness. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Conroy, with the Rev. Gary Sears officiating. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Conroy. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo.
Henrietta is survived by two sons, Larry Schwarting and wife Lani of South Amana and Harvey Schwarting and wife Jeannie of Williamsburg; four grandchildren, Linda Block of Homestead, Lanette Spanier of Albany, Minn., Terry Schwarting of South Amana and Craig Schwarting of Marengo; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, George Ehrmann and wife Ruth of Amana; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul; four brothers, Alfred, Walter, Roy and Richard Ehrmann; a great-grandson, Chase; and a great-great-grandson, Bradley.
Henrietta Lena Ehrmann was born March 11, 1915, in West Amana, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Ida (Schoenfelder) Ehrmann. She attended the Amana schools and married Paul Schwarting on Feb. 10, 1938, at the Trinity Lutheran parsonage in Conroy. Henrietta was a wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Conroy and also the ESR Club.
A memorial fund has been established.
