Schuster, Norma E.
Norma E. Schuster, 90, of 3505 English Glen, Marion, died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Memorial services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 5 at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Deb Schuster and husband Mike Hamm of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two sons, Dennis and his partner, Rita, of Vallejo, Calif., and Douglas of Indianola; and two grandchildren, Sarah and Amy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Donna Helbig; and a daughter-in-law, Sheila.
Norma was born May 13, 1921, in Linn County, the daughter of Earl and Myrtle (Speake) Helbig. She married Wilfred J. Schuster on Jan. 19, 1952, in Cedar Rapids. He died in 2009. Norma was a homemaker and worked in the office at Collins Radio for several years. She volunteered with Campfire Girls, Boy Scouts and was a member of the Musical Literary Guild.
Norma was very talented with various hobbies, including weaving, arts, crafts, sewing, gardening, music (singing and piano), flowers, gardening and genealogy. She had numerous collections and miniatures and always supported her children and grandchildren in their activities.
A memorial fund has been established.
