Schulze, David Edward
David Edward Schulze, 87, of Cedar Rapids, died Dec. 19, 2013, at his home after a short illness. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his children, Janet (Michael) Evans of Cedar Rapids, Luanne (Brian) Carter of Swisher, Gary Schulze (Belinda) of Arizona, and John Schulze and Bob Schulze, both of Cedar Rapids; and four grandchildren, Chad, Rachel, Kelsey and Cody.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Peggy; and a granddaughter, Nicki Evans.
Dave was born March 20, 1926, in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Robert and Andrea (Ingwersen) Schulze. He married Peggy Hanson on May 2, 1948, in Cedar Rapids. Dave was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church.
Throughout his career Dave ran a bread route for Peter Pan, owned a hardware store and a restaurant called Dave's Lunch in Marshalltown. Back in Cedar Rapids he owned Dave's Apco, Emerson Delivery and A-1 Courier.
He enjoyed his cabin at Delhi for 26 years and times spent with his family and friends.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
