Schroeder, Selma
Selma Schroeder, 98, of Clarence, died Nov. 5, 2009, at Mechanicsville Nursing & Rehab. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John's United Church of Christ, by the Rev. David Mears. Burial: St. John's Cemetery. Visitation: 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the church. Arrangements with Chapman Funeral Home.
Born Aug. 13, 1911, in Bennett, Iowa, the daughter of Richard and Anna (Geadelmann) Conrad, she married Hugo Schroeder on Jan. 31, 1937, in Bennett. He died in 2001.
Survivors include sons, Vern (Carol) and Robert (Donna) of Clarence; sister, Pauline Witte of Hills; five grandsons; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and a sister.
