Schorg, Michael John
Michael John Schorg, 47, died unexpectedly Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013.
Mike is survived by his two children, Melissa (Daniel) Fry of Cedar Rapids and George (Jaci); grandson, Gunner Schorg of San Clemente, Calif.; mother, Donna Schorg of Cedar Rapids; brother, Daniel (Marsha) Schorg of Blairstown; sisters, Janette (Leonard) Payton of Cedar Rapids and Christine (Doug) Mesch of Central City; and many nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, George F. Schorg; and his grandparents.
Mike was born Feb. 1, 1966, the son of George and Donna McDermott Schorg in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Kennedy High School in 1984. Mike worked for over 20 years at Henkel Construction as a welder.
Mike enjoyed fishing, watching football (GO COLTS) and was the family chef.
Please join the family in a celebration of life ceremony at noon Saturday, Sept. 21, at the poolside pavilion in Ellis Park, Cedar Rapids.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established and may be sent in care of Melissa Fry and George Schorg, 1233 Ninth St. NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405.
