Scholl, William John 'Bill'
William John “Bill” Scholl, 50, of Cedar Rapids, died quietly in his home Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010. The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion. Per Bill's wishes, there will not be a formal funeral service.
Left to honor his memory are his father, Wilmer Scholl of Cedar Rapids; brothers, Jim (Deborah) Scholl, and their daughter, Deidre, of Alburnett, and Sid Scholl of Texas; lifelong companion, Kim Snitker, and her children, Drew, Haley and “Taz,” all of Springville; son, Matt (Kim) Johnson, and their son, Parker, of Monticello; and many, many close friends whom he cherished.
He will be greeted in Heaven by his mother, Mary, and all of his grandparents.
Bill was born Feb. 18, 1959, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Wilmer and Mary (Flaws) Scholl. He married Kim Jennings in Springville in 1985. They later divorced, but remained extremely close. He then married Treva Helgens, and they were later divorced. Bill worked for over 20 years as a graphic artist and later as a truck driver for various businesses in the area. He loved spending time in the outdoors, canoeing and camping, and his true passion was woodworking.
