Schoenfeldt, Marilyn Maurine
Marilyn Maurine Schoenfeldt, 86, of Farmersburg, died Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, at Memorial Hospital, Prairie du Chien, Wis., following a long illness. Memorial Graveside Services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Farmersburg-Wagner Cemetery, Farmersburg.
Marilyn was born on Dec. 20, 1922, Farmersburg, to Henry and Augusta (Behrens) Kruse. She graduated from Farmersburg High School. Marilyn was united in marriage to Edward J. Schoenfeldt in Elkader on June 11, 1959. One son, David, was born to this union. Edward later passed away on Sept. 14, 1991. Marilyn and Ed lived in Chicago, Ill., for many years where she worked for William Blair and Co. Stockholding Firm. In 1970, they moved back to Farmersburg, where she was the Farmersburg City Clerk for over 10 years.
Marilyn enjoyed following the Chicago Cubs and playing cards. She also enjoyed helping the senior citizens at the meal site. Marilyn loved spending time with her two grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her son, David (Lori) Schoenfeldt, McGregor; two grandchildren, Kelly and Jeremiah Schoenfeldt, McGregor; and several nieces and nephews.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her siblings, Henry, Harvey, Harold, Marjorie, Joyce, Margaret and Esther, at the age of three.
