Private services for Dennis L. Schneider, 64, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Albert Lea, Minn. will be held at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home, Albert Lea, Minn., and burial will be at Graceland Cemetery with military honor's accorded by the Freeborn County Serviceman's organization.

Dennis died Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at St Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, surrounded by his loving family.

Dennis L. Schneider was born on April 26, 1948, in Albert Lea, the son of Wilbur and Dorothy (Hanson) Schneider. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Dennis graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1966. He served his country for four years in the U.S. Army including one year in Vietnam. Dennis worked at General Mills for 16 years in the drafting department. He also worked security for many years at Otis Tailgators.

Survivors include his mother, Dorothy; siblings, Wanda (Gary) Mitsch, Ronald Schneider, Janet (Greg) Ackland and Dawn Schneider; special friend, Jerri Baas; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Dennis was preceded in death by his fatherm Wilbur; brother, Dean; sister, Julie; and grandparents.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Denny's honor at Otis Tailgators, 3969 Center Point Rd. NE, Cedar Rapids, from 2 to 5 p.m. Nov. 17.
