Schneider, Ann
Ann Schneider, 92, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Interment will be in the Mayflower Cemetery, Oxford Junction. Pastors Steve and Marti Hansel will officiate at the services.

Surviving is a brother, George Balichek of Clarence; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; a son, Larry; a sister, Blanche Vacek; and two brothers, Edward and Louie.
Ann H. Balichek was born Sept. 12, 1920 at Oxford Junction, Iowa. She was the daughter of George and Sophia Pashek Balichek. Ann graduated from the Oxford Junction Schools in 1938. She worked at clerk in a grocery store and as a waitress. Ann was a teacher for 22 years in the rural schools of Jones County. She later continued her education and graduated from the University of Iowa in 1974 with a degree in Special Education. She taught two years in Independence and eight years for the Monticello Community Schools at the Amber School.
Ann married Jim Schneider on Jan. 10, 1978. He preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 2000.
