Schnedler, Neil J.
Neil J. Schnedler, 82, of 5960 Kacena Ave., Apt. 205, Marion, died suddenly Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at Winslow House Care Center, Marion. There will be no visitation or services. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Survivors include his wife, Mary K. of Marion; two stepsons, Bill (Lynn) Cunningham of Kankakee, Ill., and Robert (Jann) Frampton of Arizona; one stepdaughter, Mary (Dan) Brown of Alabama; and numerous stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Neil was born May 22, 1928, the son of Roy and Ethel (Booth) Schnedler in Ottumwa, Iowa. He married Mary K. Stolzenburg on Nov. 25, 1965, in Urbana, Ill. Neil worked for the City of Champaign for 12 years and later moved to Middletown, Iowa, where he was employed at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant and later at the First Congregational Church in Burlington. Following his retirement, they moved to Marion.
Neil was an avid outdoorsman and was a lifetime member of the Bass Anglers Association.
