Schmuecker, Marvin
Marvin Schmuecker, 79, passed away Sept. 10, 2009, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City surrounded by the love of his family.
Public visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Blairstown. Private family funeral services will be held Monday at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Blairstown followed by private family committal services held at St. Patrick and St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
Marvin was born on Sept. 3, 1930, to Leo and Blanche (Rotter) Schmuecker in Watkins. Marvin pursued his love of the land as a farmer near his lifelong home in Watkins. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him and he will never fade from our memories.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Helen (Panek); his six sons, Dean (Becky), Keith (Debbie), David (Della), Dan (Nancy), John (Becky) and Bill (Lisa); and his two daughters, Kathy (Bill) Hanes, Kristy (Chad) Christoph; 17 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
