Schmitt, Marva A.
Marva A. Schmitt, 81, of Independence, died on Sunday, March 21, 2010, at the Buchanan County Health Center LTC in Independence following a sudden illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at St. John's Catholic Church. On Wednesday, there will be a Parish Rosary at 3 p.m. and a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. at the White Funeral Home. Friends may call for visitation from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Schmitt is survived by five daughters, Becky (Jerry) Shedenhelm of LeRoy, Minn., Nancy (William) Austin of Waterloo, Susan Mill and Lisa (Richard) Moore, both of Independence, and Judy (Kevin) Nie of Cedar Rapids; four sons, Tony (Mary) Schmitt and Dana Schmitt, both of Independence, Jeff Schmitt of Grandview, Texas, and Lew Schmitt of Springville.
