Schmickle '5 timer, ' Olin Burdette
Olin Burdette Schmickle “5 timer,” 84, of Kansas City, Mo., passed away Aug. 9, 2011. Memorial services: 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home, 169 Hwy & 108th St., Kansas City, Mo., with visitation from 3 to 4 p.m. Cremation inurnment will be private. Following services an Elks memorial gathering and reception will be at the Elks Lodge, 7010 N. Cherry, Gladstone, Mo.
Olin was born in Iowa City, Iowa, on June 29, 1927. He graduated from Toddville High School in 1945 and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a former Teamster.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Martha (Auman) Schmickle.
Survivors include his wife, Judi Schmickle of the home; sister, Bethel Sylvester (Larry) of Marion; daughters, Debbie Gibson, Marsha Fitzgerald (John) and Sandy Fee (Joel) of Denver, Colo.; son, Chris Allison (Sarah) of Chesterfield, Mo.; eight grandchildren; sister-in-law, Martha Ginnings of Independence, Mo.; and brother-in-law, Jim Cooley (Susan) of Raytown, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to NorthCare Hospice House, 2900 Clay Edwards Dr., North Kansas City, MO 64116.
