Schlicht, Patricia Ann
Patricia Ann Schlicht, 78, of Cedar Rapids, died at home on Dec. 30, 2011, surrounded by her family. Visitation: 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Cedar Rapids. Funeral services: 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home by Father David Beckman.
Survivors include her husband, Francis; her sons, Mark (Gail) Stark and Chris Schlicht of Cedar Rapids; her daughters, Cathleen Wood (Mike Lorimer), Ruth Olive of Cedar Rapids, Mari (Steve) Hamilton of Anamosa and Betty (Brad) Hohenstein of Ohio; stepdaughters, Barb Schlicht (Russ) of Cedar Rapids and Annette Schlicht of Illinois; a stepson, Michael Schlicht of Cedar Rapids; brothers, John Leary of Minnesota and Daniel Leary of Cedar Rapids; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Patricia was born March 18, 1933, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of John and Mary (McGowan) Leary. She married Earl Stark in 1951; he preceded her in death in 1959. She then married Francis Schlicht on Dec. 29,1972.
Patricia was preceded in death by her sister, Theresa; and an infant son, Earl Richard.
Patricia's legacy was the nurturing and education of children. She cared for her own children, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She cared for dozens of her baby-sitting kids and gave each the same love and affection as her own.
