Schlemmer, Lila
Lila Schlemmer, 69, of Anamosa, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, peacefully in her home. Services will at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 4, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa. The Rev. Bill Nielsen will officiate at the service. Friends may call from 4 to 7 Thursday at the Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. Internment will be at the Riverside Cemetery.

Surviving is her husband, Keith; two daughters, Kris (Jeff) Wilson of Cedar Rapids, and Karla (Al) Johnson of Maple Plain, Minn.; two sisters, Lorraine (Homer) Clark of Anamosa, and LaVonne (Gary) Reed of Brutus, Mich.; one brother, Virtus Bartels of California; five grandchildren Andrew, Nicole, Emily, Alicia and Adam; and one great-granddaughter, Adalyn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Linda VonBehren and Lea Schafer.
Lila Lea Bartels was born August 20, 1941, in Anamosa, Iowa. She was the daughter of Hans and Edna Burmeister Bartels. She was a 1959 graduate of Anamosa High School.
On May 31, 1959, Lila and Keith Schlemmer were united in marriage at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa. Lila was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa for more than 50 years. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and QVC shopping.
Lila was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be missed dearly by those closest to her.
