Schlagel, Inez Lucille
Inez Lucille Schlagel, 92, of Marion, died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Memorial services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Family will greet friends one hour before the services.
Survivors include her children, Jean (Richard) Strausser of Cedar Rapids, Linda Clemons of Belle Plaine, Dan (Sheri) Schlagel of Mount Pleasant, Diana Schumacher of Center Point and Debra Schutte (Steve Sachtjen) of Hiawatha; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Lena Bruce of Marion, Barton Taylor of Alburnett, Nellie Wood of Central City, Grover Taylor of Troy Mills and Ruth Wylie of Clarence.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983, her parents and several brothers and sisters.
Inez was born May 28, 1919, near Petersburg, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph E. and Susie (Bowers) Taylor. On July 12, 1937, Inez was united in marriage to Wayne Schlagel in Manchester, Iowa.
