Schima, Beth N.
Beth N. Schima, 36, of Hiawatha, formerly of Jesup, died Thursday, April 28, 2011, from cancer. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 2, at First Presbyterian Church, Jesup. Burial: Cedar Crest Cemetery, Jesup. Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at White Funeral Home in Jesup and before services Monday at the church.
She was born Dec. 6, 1974, in Ames, Iowa, the daughter of Gary William Schima and Arlene Ann (Smock) Schima. Following graduation from Jesup High School, she attended Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo. She was employed as a floral designer at Peck's Flower & Garden Shop in Cedar Rapids.
Beth is survived by two daughters, Taylor Schima-Lammers of Cedar Rapids and Nicole Ryan of Hiawatha; one son, Connor Ryan of Hiawatha; parents, Gary and Arlene Schima of Jesup; brother, Robert Schima of Minneapolis; and her fiance, Chris Bauer of Springfield, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Leo and Dorothy Schima; maternal grandparents, John and Irene Smock; and her uncle, E.J. Smock.
