Schillig, Gary Frank
Gary Frank Schillig, 78, passed away at his home in Cedar Rapids on Monday, May 20, 2013. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Gary was born July 12, 1934, to Charles and Philomena Schillig, and was one of three sons born to this union. He lived his entire life in the Cedar Rapids area, working at his family's pharmacy for many years.
Gary was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church. He had a love for dogs, keeping him company at home following his retirement.
He is survived by a daughter, Mimi (her husband, Richard) of Sloan, Iowa; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (his wife, Carol) of Robins, Iowa; three nieces; and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles; and son, James.
