Scheetz, Marcus W. 'Marc'
Marcus W. “Marc” Scheetz, 59, of Coralville, died Friday, March 5, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids after a long illness.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lensing's Oak Hill, 209 Holiday Road in Coralville, with Reverend Tom Doyle officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Oxford. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
Marc was born April 14, 1950, in Iowa City, the son of William N. and Vera Mae (Grant) Scheetz. Growing up in Iowa City, Marc graduated from Clear Creek High School. He received his A.A. degree in mechanical engineering from Kirkwood Community College.
Marc was an over-the-road truck driver for Dart Transit and Direct Transit. He also was a self-employed painting contractor.
He was a member of the Amana Society Hunting Club and the Refrigeration Service Engineering Society.
Marc is survived by his mother Vera of Iowa City; brothers, Terry Scheetz of Cosgrove and Kevin of Conroy; sisters, Janet Bowers (John) of Cedar Rapids, Linda Lown of Cedar Rapids and Sandy Shank of Coralville; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
