Scheeper, Gladys
Gladys Scheeper, 83, of Lowden, died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, at Wheatland Manor Nursing Home. Gladys donated her body to the Department of Anatomy at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lowden. Inurnment will be at a later date at Trinity Church Cemetery. Arrangements with Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence.
Born July 30, 1926, in Lowden, the daughter of Emil and Emma (Meier) Stolte, she married George Scheeper there on Nov. 25, 1966. He died June 28, 1989. Gladys was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she had been very active in various organizations, including the ladies aid and choir. She had taught Sunday school for 32 years.
Survivors include a brother, Larry (Virjean) Stolte of Lowden; a sister, Luverne (Bob) Fiala of Goeleta, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and three sisters.
