Schaffer, Jeannine 'Jean'
Jeannine “Jean” Schaffer, 53, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital. Private family services will be held at a later date. Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids is assisting the family.
Jean was born March 2, 1958, in Sigourney, the daughter of Edmund and Mina Greiner. She graduated from Sigourney High School in 1976. Jean married Steve Schaffer on Dec. 23, 1976.
She enjoyed gardening, going to the shooting ranges, junk and gem shows and spending time with her family.
Jean is survived by her son, Jason Schaffer; her daughter, Wendy Schaffer; granddaughter, Ryleah Dunlap; her husbands' mother and father, Jitka and Virgil Schaffer, and brother-in-law, Robert Schaffer, all of Cedar Rapids; her mother, Mina; her brothers, Jim and Jerry Greiner; and sisters, Jennifer Short and Jane Denny.
Jean was preceded in death by her dad; her husband, Steve; and her brother, Joe Greiner.
