Schafer, Charolette Louise
Charolette Louise Schafer, 71, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at her home. Celebration of Life services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Brosh Chapel in Cedar Rapids. Private family inurnment will be in Dupont Cemetery near Swisher.
Charolette was born July 29, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Basil and Louise (Wise) McGuire. She graduated from Jefferson High School. Charolette worked in admissions for St. Luke's and Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, and later worked for UMC in Las Vegas until her retirement. Charolette was united in marriage to Richard Schafer on May 8, 1971, in Cedar Rapids. She enjoyed cooking, listening to her books, and spending time with her family.
Charolette is survived by her husband; her children, Suzi Wojciechowski of North Liberty, Jeffrey Mikesell of Las Vegas, Heidi Nobles of Cedar Rapids and Gregg (Teresa) Schafer of Swisher; grandchildren, Davon and Dashon Nobles, Haley and Madison Wojciechowski and Clint and Tiara Schafer; and two brothers, Gary (Jan) McGuire and Larry McGuire, all of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
