Sayasit, Blake
Blake Sayasit, 52, of Marion, died Saturday, May 4, 2013, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, after a 9-month battle with bladder cancer. Memorial services: 1 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. A visitation will be Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids, from 4 to 7 p.m. Father Tony Kruse from St. Joseph Catholic Church will officiate.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Tammy S. Sayasit, are a son, Alex J. (Elisha) Sayasit of Marion; a daughter, Denise N. Sayasit of Indianapolis; two grandsons, Jaxon A. Sayasit and Maddox J. Sayasit. and a granddaughter, Amaris A. Davis. all of Marion; his parents, William and Melinda Sayasit of Costa Mesa, Calif.; four brothers, Phisith, Robert, Peter and Mon; three sisters, Darathip Ritthisak, Daravanh Sayasit and Daravonh Sayasit; and his mother-in-law, Christine C. Keeney of Marion. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Wayne A. Keeney.
Blake was born Dec. 30, 1960, in Luang Prabang, Laos. He married Tammy S. Keeney on March 24, 1984. Blake was employed at Air Management Supply Inc. as a territory manager in Cedar Rapids and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Blake enjoyed life and spending time with his family and his grandchildren who meant the world to him.
Blake was known for wearing his shorts at any time of the year and would always brighten up a room with his big smile. Blake loved cars, barbecuing, and a good gin tonic.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
