Satterlee, A. Clark
A. Clark Satterlee, 84, died Sept. 27, 2012, at Buchanan County Health Center, Independence.
He was born Nov. 8, 1927, in Buchanan County, Iowa, the son of Arthur Amos and Lois Miriam (Hayzlett) Satterlee. He served with the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. On May 7, 1949, he and the former Marie Rose Kisner were married in Sioux Falls, S.D. She preceded him in death in 2010. Mr. Satterlee farmed in Buchanan County.
Survivors include three daughters, Diana Hulin of Jesup, and Connie (Harry) Scott and Julie (Brad) Bagby, both of Independence; a son, Gary (Rhonda) Satterlee of Independence; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Sheila Lamphier of Independence and Sharon Kessler of Carmel, Calif.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Neal Hulin; two brothers, Jack Satterlee and Jerry Satterlee; and a sister, Genevieve “Ginx” Cook.
Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Oct. 2, at First United Methodist Church in Independence. Burial will be at Wilson Cemetery, Independence. Visitation: 4 until 8 p.m. Oct. 1, at White Funeral Home, Independence, where a military service begins at 7 p.m.
