Sarchett, Ilomay (Bradley)
Ilomay (Bradley) Sarchett, 81, of Vinton, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010, at Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Cedar Rapids following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 East Sixth St., Vinton. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour before the service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Ilomay Bradley was born March 11, 1929, in Dubuque, the daughter of Roy and Blanche (Bouvier) Bradley. She graduated from Washington High School in Dubuque and attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids for two years. Ilomay was united in marriage to Dean Sarchett on April 2, 1950, in Dubuque. He preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 1989.
Ilomay enjoyed photography and was a member of the Organ Club in Cedar Rapids. She also enjoyed bird watching, hiking and spending time at their cabin on the Cedar River.
Ilomay is survived by her two sons, Mark (Mary) Sarchett of Marion and Jon Sarchett of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Tina Sarchett of Marion, Carrie Sarchett of Tucson, Ariz., B.J. (Katie) Sarchett of Peculiar, Mo., and Chris (Brona) Sarchett of St. Louis, Mo.; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Colin Sarchett of St. Louis; and one brother, Lyle Bradley of Anoka, Minn.
In addition to her husband, Ilomay was preceded in death by her parents, and son and daughter-in-law, Michael (Cindy) Sarchett.
A memorial fund has been established.
