Sarah Jane Riley, 67, of Cedar Rapids, died Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, at her home. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Matthew Catholic Church. The Rev. Steve Garner will officiate. Entombment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday with a vigil service at 5 p.m. There will also be a visitation after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Survivors include two sons, Michael (Wendy) of Ames and Jason, and a daughter, Heather, both of Cedar Rapids; her mother, Delphine Blunt of Gilbertville; four sisters, Peg, LuAnne, Joan and Patti; and three brothers, Dick, Dennis and John. She is also survived by four grandchildren.
Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, father and a brother, James.
Sarah was born April 18, 1949, in Waterloo, the daughter of James and Delphine Meisch Blunt. She married Thomas W. Riley on Sept. 28, 1974, in Cedar Rapids. Tom passed away in 1997.
Sarah worked in food service for ARAMARK at Mount Mercy University for 17 years. She was a faithful member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. Sarah was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
