Sarah Margaret Cejka, 94, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on, Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Hallmar Village.
Visitation: 4:30 – 6:00 p.m., Monday, December 1, 2025, with Rosary recited at 4:00 p.m., Papich-Kuba Funeral Service, 1228 2nd Ave SE, Cedar Rapids, 52401. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2025, with a visitation held one hour prior to service, St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Sacred Heart Cemetery, Maquoketa, Iowa. Papich-Kuba Funeral Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
Margaret was born on February 1, 1931, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Eugene and Sarah (McCarty) Kane. She was united in marriage to Ernest Cejka on June 6, 1964, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.
Margaret worked as a school teacher for over 30 years, teaching in both the Catholic and Public-school systems at DeWitt, Walford, Urbana, Mount Vernon, and Tucson, Arizona. Raised on the family farm near Webster, Iowa, and joining her husband in farming near Cedar Rapids, she remained a country girl at heart and held a deep love for animals, particularly horses and dogs.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Ann Cejka.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Mary Bousselott, Pat Kane, Eugene Kane, John Kane, Kathleen Campbell, Jim Kane, and Jane Kane.
Memorials may be made to the family in care of Ann Cejka.
