Sara Jean Cummings Bunch, 42, died Monday, June 11, 2018, at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore, Md., following a sudden illness. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 13, at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home in Vinton.
Sara was born Feb. 29, 1976, in Vinton, Iowa, the daughter of William Craig Cummings and Elaine Marie Rhinehart. She graduated from high school in Garden City, Mo., and attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. Sara had been working in the records department at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore.
She enjoyed her cat, baking and donating supplies to a friend's classroom every year.
Sara is survived by her father, Craig Cummings of Vinton; grandparents, Bill and Faye Cummings of Vinton; brothers, William Robert Cummings of Vinton and Eric Paul Cummings of Robins; half siblings, Danielle Cummings of Marion, Brett Sorrell of Houstonia, Mo., and Chris Sorrell of Creighton, Mo.; stepsister Kelli Cummings of Dubuque; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elaine; stepmother, Lori Cummings; an uncle, Doug Cummings; and her maternal grandparents.
