Sanger, Raymond D.
Raymond D. Sanger, 87, of Clarence, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, May 26, at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence, with the Rev. David Mears officiating. Burial: St. John's Cemetery, Clarence, with military rites by the Clarence American Legion Post #286. Friends may call beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine; a son, Ted Sanger of Cedar Rapids; daughters, Ellen (Melvin) Krause of Cedar Rapids, Sally Meyer of Marion, Peggy (Richard III) Prochaska of Cedar Rapids, and Vicki Crock of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Rex (Dorothy) Sanger of Maquoketa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Howard and Ray Jr.; and a daughter, Lori.
Raymond was born Jan. 10, 1925, in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Ray H. Sr. and Christina Buck Sanger. On April 20, 1947, he married Elaine Boettcher in Clarence.
Ray was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Clarence and the Clarence American Legion Post 286. Ray was a World War II veteran and spent his life involved in the outdoors
