Sands, Timothy D. 'Tim'

Timothy D. “Tim” Sands, 48, of Conesville, Iowa, died Friday, June 8, 2012 from injuries suffered at the CJ Speedway.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the United Presbyterian Church in Washington with services officiated by Linda Nicklin. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will take place at the Oregon Township Cemetery in Ainsworth, Iowa. A general memorial has been established. Online condolences may be sent for Tim's family through the website at

He is survived by his wife, Julie Denkmann of Conesville, Iowa; daughter, Jennifer Sands of Cotter, Iowa; son, Benjamin “Ben” Sands and Kirsten Reed of Cotter, Iowa; son, Steven Denkmann of Tybee Island, Ga.; three grandchildren, Jade, Malakai, and Owen; sister, Pat Moyer and her children, Dana and Tim Moyer of Washington, Iowa; brother, Frank Sands of Cotter, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Bob Murdock and wife Lisa of Niles, Mich,; brother-in-law, Mike Murdock of Conesville, Iowa; and sister-in-law, Linda Nicklin and husband Bill of Douds, Iowa.
