Sandra “Sandy” Lee Jordan, 72, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Gospel Light Baptist Church, 305 2nd Avenue, Marion, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Jordan's Grove Cemetery in Central City, Iowa. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.
Sandy was born on July 7, 1953, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Billy Bob and Lois Estelle (Ralston) Wood. She was a 1971 graduate of Linn Mar High School. On January 27, 1982, Sandy was united in marriage to Roy Jordan at Friendship Baptist Church in Cedar Rapids. She spent many years working as a secretary for Gospel Light Baptist Church and RJ Construction, and was also a devoted and talented homemaker. Sandy and Roy enjoyed attending home shows together and served as officers for IRENEW, Iowa’s renewable energy association. She loved bird watching, exploring the beauty of Colorado, admiring the fall leaves in Galena, and spotting wildlife wherever she went. For 29 years, Sandy and Roy found great joy in bus calling and encouraging children to come to Sunday School. Sandy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Sandy is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband of 43 years, Roy of Marion; children, Tonya McGaffic Lehman of Marion, Tom (Kiley) Jordan of Springville, Iowa, and Ben (Amy) Jordan of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Jordan (Danielle) and Brooke Lehman, Blake (Angela), Luke, Brandon, Hayden, and Oliver Jordan; great-granddaughter, Ellie Lehman; and sisters, Sharon (Gary) Clemenson and Lorie Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
