Sandra “Sandy” Drew, 79, died at her residence Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2022, at Sandy’s home, 2886 61st St. Lane, Lot 10, Vinton. Van Steenhuyse-Teahen Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Clark of Vinton; two daughters, Melisa Cooper of Cedar Rapids and Crystal (Mark) Freitager of Delhi; one son, Gary Cooper of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Carly Cooper, Evan Freitager (Paige Anderson), Calese Clemens, Cole Cooper and Caleb Clendenen; brother, Daniel Steggall of the Philippines; sister-in-law, Cheryl Steggall of Cedar Rapids; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kevin (Terri) Drew, Craig (Kris) Drew and Kurt (Tia) Drew, all of Cedar Rapids, Kelly (Jill) Drew of Florida and Beth (Gus) Hartauer of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lawrence “Punk” Steggall; sister, Bonnie Johnson; infant Baby Cooper; parents-in-law, Walt and Mary Ellen Drew; sister- and brother-in-law, Sue and Kevin Cooling; and niece, Jenny Drew.
Sandy was born on Dec. 28, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Lawrence and Lucille (Barta) Steggall. She attended Filmore grade school, Jefferson High School, graduating in 1961 and then attended Paris Academy, graduating in 1963. Sandy owned her own beauty salon for several years. On Dec. 30, 1993, Sandy was united in marriage to Clark Drew in Cedar Rapids.
Sandy enjoyed bowling, gardening, crafts, movies, puzzles and designing the interior and exterior of their three homes Clark built. But her greatest joy came when loving and spending time with her family.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for a charity of their choice.
