Sandra Louise (Zeller) Gardemann, 66, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, June 20, 2014, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Survivors include her children, Brian (Julie) Gardemann, Stephanie Kinney and Rodney Gardemann, all of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Jennifer, Joel, Riley, Lucy, Callie and Tristin; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bill (Kathy) Zeller of Palo, Donald (Naomi) Zeller of Punta Gorda, Fla., Cheryl (Dwayne) Myres of Palo and Yvonne Barker of Cedar Rapids; and many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.
Sandra Louise was born April 22, 1948, in Davenport, the daughter of Hilary and Mildred Lucille Zeller. She was a dedicated employee of Alliant Energy for 35 years as the manager of the flight and travel department.
Sandra was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She was always there for anyone who needed help, always putting others first.
Sandra loved playing cards and going to Las Vegas with friends where she would've lived if she could have. She was always laughing and having a good time. She spent much of her time hanging out with the girls from work and enjoyed their company.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents and her niece, Christy Kremer.
According to her wishes, private services were held, with burial in the Palo Cemetery. However, the family invites you to celebrate her life with a time of food and fellowship at the Palo United Methodist Church on Tuesday, June 24, from 5 to 9 p.m.
Special thanks to the staff at PCI and the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
