Sandra Cooney, 72, of Iowa City, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly March 2, 2022. A memorial Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, where her family will greet friends prior to the Mass from noon to 1 p.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center.
She is survived by her sisters, Carolyn Vogel and Arlene (William) Hotz; longtime friend, Rita Griffin; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Robert Vogel.
