After a long battle with cancer, Sandra Kathleen Cannon, 67, of Fleming Island, Fla., passed away Aug. 27, 2017. She was surrounded by loving family and friends in her final days.
Sandy was born in Manchester, Iowa, on Dec. 14, 1949. She attended St. Mary's Catholic School and later Manchester High School. During her senior year, she was selected as homecoming queen. Sandy graduated with a close-knit group of friends and had remained in contact over the years.

Over the next 45 years, Sandy lived in several states and worked at various careers. She worked for the U.S. Department of Navy, real estate and banking, owned a clothing store, and as an executive assistant for multiple corporations. She was known for her hard work and ability to organize and complete projects.
After Sandy retired, she developed a passion for tennis. She dedicated many joyful hours to playing the game and laughing with her teammates.
No matter where she lived she always developed meaningful relationships and made a lasting impression on those around her.
Surviving are her husband, Don Loop; son, Nick Cannon; brother, Duane Langel; sisters, Judy Engelken, JoAnn Bradley and Janet Schwictenburg; daughter-in-law, Kasey Cannon; and grandkids, Gage (23), Madeline (19) and Benjamin (16).
