Samuel David “Dave” Weaver, 77, of Anamosa, Iowa, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025. Born on March 11, 1948, in Anamosa, Iowa, Dave was the beloved son of Helen Catherine Corbit and Samuel Pierce Weaver.
Dave’s life was marked by love, dedication, and a quiet strength. In 1968, while traveling through Maine, he met the love of his life, Ann. The two married on July 8, 1968, and together built a beautiful life filled with adventure, family, and countless cherished memories. Their journey took them across the country before they finally settled in Iowa, raising a family grounded in love and laughter.
Dave spent many years working at Polo Plastics, where he was a respected colleague and served as a Union Steward. He was known not only for his strong work ethic but for the care and fairness he extended to everyone around him.
Outside of work, Dave was a man of many passions. He found joy in fishing, emergency preparedness, tending to his tomatoes, collecting coins, and gathering with loved ones for card and board games. His warmth, wit, and wisdom made him a beloved fixture in his family.
Dave is survived by his children: David (Brandi) Weaver, Kimberly (Jeff) Weaver Steffensmeier, Robert Weaver, and Sarah Weaver. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his grandchildren: Adam Weaver, Luke Weaver, Sydney Weaver, Sean Weaver, Alex Oude Alink, Chelsea Steffensmeier, Alyssa Steffensmeier, Taylor Steffensmeier, Christian Steffensmeier, Grace (Zac) Ceresa, Karson Steffensmeier, Bria Steffensmeier, Kristen Weaver, Robert Weaver Jr., Lyli Webster, and Draven Webster; and his great-grandchildren Mya Olajiga and Mila Weaver.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ann Weaver one month ago; his mother, Helen Weaver; and his father, Samuel Pierce Weaver.
A funeral service to celebrate Dave’s life will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, March 29, at Dawson Funeral Services, Olin. A visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm on Saturday at Dawson Funeral Services, Olin. Family and friends are invited to come together to remember a man whose presence brought light, laughter, and love to all who knew him.
