Sams, Samara Jane
Samara Jane Sams, 76, died peacefully Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family. As per her wishes she was cremated. Graveside memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, at Riverside Cemetery in Anamosa. Carla Burge will officiate at the service.

Surviving are her children, Robert of Maquoketa, Charles, Terry and Yutanna of Anamosa, Doug of Monmouth, Jim of Hale, Judy of Oxford Junction and Cindy of Lisbon; 23 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and 16 brothers and sisters.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Andy; a daughter, Pam; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; and a sister.
Samara Jane was born Aug. 22, 1936, in Anamosa, at her parent's home. She was the daughter of Walter and Eleanor Pavin Farrington. On Oct. 17, 1953, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Sams. They had 10 children. She worked at various jobs and retired from Chesapeake Packaging. She will be missed by all who loved her.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
