Sarah (Sally) Luberger Mulvany Sedlak, 90, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully in her home Saturday, July 12, 2014, surrounded by family. A visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday July 16, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home with a vigil service beginning at 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 17, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Sally was born Dec. 18, 1923, to Balcom and Katherine Luberger in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She attended Franklin High School then Coe College in Cedar Rapids. She married Gerold Mulvany on July 11, 1945, in Santa Maria, Calif., to whom she was married for over 50 years, until his passing. Sally had a head for business and worked in the family's furniture store, Luberger Mulvany Furniture. On May 5, 2002, Sally married her second husband, Norbert Sedlak Sr., who later passed away in 2010.
She is survived by her three daughters, Patricia Heaton of Pensacola, Fla., Sandy Baugh and Denise Kennedy, both from Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerold Mulvany; husband, Norbert Sedlak; daughter, Susan Cline; and an infant son.
